1. IAF built the world's tallest "Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower"

The Indian Air Force has constructed one of the tallest Air Traffic Control (ATC) towers in the world at the Advance Landing Ground in Ladakh. The operations of aircraft and helicopters operating in Eastern Ladakh are controlled by the ATC.


2. AFI declares August 7 to be celebrated as National Gelin Day

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has given a big reward to Neeraj Chopra, who created history by winning the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Neeraj won the gold medal on August 7 and won the country's first medal in 100 years in athletics. AFI has declared August 7 to be celebrated as National Javelin Day. The AFI Planning Commission Chairman said, “To encourage throwing pan India, we will celebrate 7th August as National Wellness Day and from next year our affiliated units will organize wellness competitions in their respective states.


3. Army hoists 100 feet high tricolor in Jammu and Kashmir

India's independence is about to complete 75 years. A 100 feet high flag was hoisted in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir during a small ceremony held on Tuesday as part of the celebrations. The ceremony was presided over by the Army Commander, Northern Command, Lt Gen YK Joshi.


4. WFI sacks wrestler Vinesh Phogat

The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Tuesday said it has temporarily suspended star wrestler Vinesh Phogat for indiscipline during her campaign at the Tokyo Olympic Games and also issued a notice to young Sonam Malik for misbehavior.


5. 2020 Global Youth Development Index released

The Commonwealth Secretariat said on Tuesday that India is ranked 122nd in the Global Youth Development Index 2020, which measures a list of 181 countries around the world.

Singapore topped the list for the first time after Slovenia, Norway, Malta, Denmark. Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Niger were at the bottom.


6. PM Modi launched Ujjwala 2.0

PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday virtually launched the second phase of Ujjwala 2.0 ie Ujjwala Yojana in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, in the financial year 2021-22, one crore beneficiaries will be given LPG connection and stove free of cost. These beneficiaries will get LPG connection without residence certificate, ration card.


7. Neeraj Chopra conducts RBI awareness campaign

Neeraj Chopra, who raised the country's honor by winning the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020, has joined the Reserve Bank of India's campaign. RBI in association with Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra has launched a public awareness campaign to warn people against digital banking frauds.
