India's men's hockey team won the bronze medal by defeating Germany 5-4 at the Tokyo Olympics. Before winning a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, India climbed the podium when it won a medal at the 1980 Olympics, when India won its 8th gold medal in the sport. After 41 years, India won the bronze medal in men's hockey at the Olympics by defeating Germany 5-4.
The main hero of the victory was Simranjit Singh, who scored two goals for India at the Oi Hockey Stadium, in which Hardik Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Rupinder Singh scored one goal each for the India team.
