3) The deadly Nipah virus has again raised its bell in the southern state of Kerala after nearly three years, killing a 12-year-old boy and infecting two healthcare workers. 16) The Government of Gujarat started 'Watan Prem' scheme for rural development.

➧Watan Prem Yojana was launched on August 7, 2021. The planning governing body has proposed works worth Rs 1000 crore, which are to be completed by December 2022.

➧Under this scheme, NRIs can contribute 60 per cent of the cost of the village level project, and the rest will be borne by the state government.
