Draw 1st test match England vs India-

 



The first test match played between India and England Bay ended in a draw. The first test match of the 5-Test series was played at the Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham. The first test match ended without a result. Due to continuous rain on the fifth day, the umpire took the decision to end the match. India  had to score 157 runs on the fifth day to win the first Test match. Indian team had 9 wickets to make this run. England team could score only 303 runs in the second innings. England had set a target of 209 runs in front of India. England were all out for 183 in the first innings. While India scored 278 runs in their first innings. In which India took a lead of 95 runs in their East Inning. With Root's century, England's team could only score 303 runs in the second innings and set a target of 209 runs in front of India. India's team came out to chase 209 runs in their second innings and on the fourth day they scored 57 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. Play could not start on the fifth day due to heavy rain and the umpire decided to declare the match a draw. Man of the match root for the first test match was given for his brilliant batting. He scored 64 runs in the first innings and 109 in the second innings.
